Sales of previously owned homes fell 5.9 percent in July, according to new numbers from the National Association of Realtors. According to the Mortgage Bankers Association's Weekly Applications Survey, average mortgage rates for 30-year fixed-rate mortgages with conforming loan balances fell last week from the week before.
